Expectations of Members Referring Prospective Candidates
- The EC referring member (sponsor) should know the candidate well enough to attribute their name to the candidacy.
- The EC referring member (sponsor) is committing that they believe the candidate meets the criteria, will be a good cultural fit, and is committed to lifelong networking, with a willingness to help other members. (Occasionally, candidates view the process and membership as a means-to-an-end, or as a transaction. We aren’t interested in that kind of candidate).
- Referring member (sponsor) should direct the candidate to the EC website, member criteria tab, and ask the candidate to review it for alignment to the criteria, and then have them download and complete the member application form. Upon completion, they should email the completed application and resume to Scott Turner at s_turner02@charter.net.
- Scott will copy the referring member on each step in the process via email.
- In the event any EC BOD member believes the candidate is not a solid cultural fit and/or doesn’t meet criteria, the vetting process will cease, and the referring member (sponsor) and the candidate will be informed that their candidacy won’t be moving forward.
